Father's Day 2007

We had a nice relaxing morning then we were off on our quest to get a chimney/fire pit for the backyard. Kennedy LOVES camp fires and eating toasted marshmallows, so we decided to get a pit for the backyard. Mom & Dad came over for supper and stayed for the inaugural run of our backyard chimney.

Day Trip To Nana & Papa's Trailer

Kennedy & I took off up to visit Mom & Dad today. We stopped on the way and took some great photos and took the Gondola Point ferry at Kennedy's insistence both ways. It was a nice relaxing day and I think we will be seeing them again on Father's Day tomorrow for a special dinner.

The road up to Mom & Dad's trailer:

Sandbox Fun

Kennedy's Corner of the Deck
Kennedy loves to play in the sand and we love to encourage her to do anything that doesn't involve a screen (although she very much comes naturally by that between her father & I and her two brothers!!!), so we set up her little sand table today and cleared away all the icky spider webs and stuff so she could get onto it when she got home. She had fun making sand tunnels and getting dirty.

I love the little lines she says about what she's doing...she cracks me up!

Field Day!

Kennedy is very excited today because it is "Field Day" at her school. Ryan & Kyle used to get really excited about it back in the day as well, because that school does an amazing job and a lot of fun things with the kids. She woke up this morning saying, "Happy Field Day, Mama!" A good dose of sunscreen, a hat, and way more energy than I ever have this early in the morning and she bounded down the front stairs and was off to have a blast at Field Day. I'm still on coffee number one; after writing almost 6 hours of exams yesterday, I need more than one.

This weekend is my first weekend "off" of crazy studying for a while with 2 exams down and a week before my stats exam, so you never know what Kennedy & I will be up to; I'll post some pictures later on in the weekend. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Our Weekend

We started out yesterday with a trip to Rockwood Park to feed squirrels, go on a nature walk, play in the sand at the beach and go to the playground:
Kennedy & Daddy feed the hungry squirrels! We have been feeding those squirrels for ages - they will eat right out of your hand at times. Kennedy loves feeding them and gets extremely aggravated when the pigeons fly in to try and get some food, she claps and chases them away!
Holding onto Daddy's hand with both hands - he keeps her safe from all the bugs!

Higher Dad, higher!!!

Today was Kennedy's flower-planting and GIANT BUBBLES Day!

"Look at that!"

This is Kennedy getting frustrated when the bubbles don't work!

"Watch this! Cool!"

Here she is planting her impatiens and geraniums:

Poor Kennedy, she picked the wrong mommy to have to be interested in gardening - my thumb is BLACK!!

She is very proud of her beautiful flowers and we are very proud of our beautiful flower.
